Nick is a single Italian-American guy from New Jersey. His parents retired and moved to Florida. He sees both sets of grandparents every Sunday for dinner until he has to tell them that he's been offered a dream job far away. Frank, Aida, Nunzio and Emma do their level best to keep Nick around, and that includes bringing dinner to the lovely - and single - Caitlin O'Hare as bait…
This won the EODL drama award and was taken on the road to Sault Ste. Marie. The director won the award at the Theatre Ontario festival there.
Thus there were 12 performances, 10 in the regular run, one at the EODL festival in the Playhouse, and one in Sault. Over the River won 2 awards and had 2 other nominations: Rosemary Keneford was named outstanding director and Jim Holmes was selected as best male in supporting role. Brooke Keneford was nominated for best supporting male actor and Stewart Wheeler for best male in lead role.
